My base station is a Flex 6400 with the M650

microphone.  I use the MFJ 998 tuner to tune

with the Command Technologies 1200 amplifier.

Also pictured is an Icom 7100 I use as back-up

and travel.  The 7100 is HF plus 2meter and 440

with D-STAR.  Here at the home QTH I have a

D-STAR 440 repeater and a VHF simplex D-STAR

VHF 50 watt hotspot.

Hello, my name is John and my call is W4ccq.  I live in Helena, Alabama, south of Birmingham.  I am a retiree of AT&T Telephone Company where I worked as a communication technician.  Before retirement we were able to purchase acreage on the lake and build our retirement home. There are 15 acres with no restrictions for antennas and now days that's a rare blessing. We lived there for 25 years and our health required we move in closer to medical facilities so we found 10 acres in Helena and built an RV Port/Home.  I am now 77 years old and have lost all my hair but still have some of my teeth hi-hi. My hobbies obviously Amateur radio licensed 1976 as wb4ccq later dropped the B , and Motor Home travel.  My wife Peggy and I have been camping longer than I have been a ham.  I have a portable ham station in our motor home now.
